The first section climbs through Hainzenberg through several switchbacks until it levels out. The second section is a gentle climb to Gerlos with minimal incline and some gentle downhill sections. Leaving Gerlos, the route becomes steeper again. Passing the reservoir, you reach the Gerlosplatte, from where it descends again.
