Joshua's tip describes everything very well. The ascent from the east is demanding, but doable if you are free from vertigo and sure-footed. Since the Zischgenscharte is currently closed and likely to remain so, and the path over the Schöntaljoch is not an official path, the route over the Zischgeles is probably the best way between the Westfalenhaus and the Pforzheimer Hütte.

This section is actually almost a highway. On the way to the summit, it will become even more challenging afterwards.

A beautifully located, likeable hut with a super nice team. The food was delicious, the breakfast plentiful and tasty. The showers work with shower tokens, which can be purchased for four euros. For this, you get three minutes of warm water. When the water is stopped, the time does not continue to run. This is more than practical and also fair. The hut is easily accessible from the valley and, due to its location on the Sellrainer Hüttenrunde, offers various possibilities to continue to neighboring huts or to undertake day tours.
