One of Hungary's oldest public parks was named in honor of the tragically deceased Queen Elisabeth in 1899. Protected since 1942, the area is home to several special plants, including an outstanding specimen of the mountain mammoth, which is the tallest specimen in Hungary. When the garden was renovated in 2015, the area of the former restaurant was marked with a wooden fence and the music pavilion was also rebuilt. The botanical diversity was also taken care of; tulip tree, Californian wingnut, Japanese flowering cherry, copper beech, American sweetgum tree, sweet chestnut, ginkgo tree, flesh-red horse chestnut, olive willow pear complement the huge original tree population consisting of chestnuts, plane trees and Japanese cord trees. Bald cypresses, firs and black pine form the evergreen flora of the garden, but the shrubs are also diverse. The park is a favorite recreational area for locals to walk, cycle, jog or simply have a chat. Next to the stream there is a playground for children and a street workout area for the older ones. In summer, various concerts of different genres take place in the music pavilion.
