The Inselsee is an idyllically situated artificial lake in the Unterer Schlossgarten in the Stuttgart-Ost district of Stuttgart. It forms the lowest link in a chain of five lakes (including the Eissee and the Nymphensee), which are fed by a modern stream modeled on the historical Nesenbach. The lake and its shore areas have been extensively renovated, ecologically upgraded, and equipped with biological filters for natural water purification.

The Löwentor marks one of the most well-known entrances to the Rosensteinpark in Stuttgart and is at the same time the namesake for the Museum am Löwentor located there, which together with the Schloss Rosenstein forms the State Museum of Natural History Stuttgart.

The Lodzer Steg was built for the International Garden Exhibition (IGA) in 1993 and spans the Nordbahnhofstraße at the level of the Löwentor. The architecturally interesting cable net construction serves as an important connecting piece of the so-called "Green U" by connecting the Rosensteinpark with the Leibfriedscher Garten in a barrier-free way.

For example, the Löwentor Museum – Rosenstein Park loop from Mittnachtstraße is a moderate 6 km route perfect for a relaxed run.
Stuttgart's unique topography means many routes offer fantastic views. The vineyard-laced hillsides, such as those on Mönchberg or the pastoral Schimmelhüttenweg, provide quiet roads and great city panoramas. For a challenging run with rewarding vistas, consider trails around the Fernsehturm (TV Tower) or Birkenkopf, the highest point in the inner-city area.

Vineyard routes often offer views of sites like the Burial chapel on the Württemberg.
