Set on the shores of Mjåvatnet, Mjåvasshytta is a self-service DNT cabin that has welcomed hikers for more than a century. Guests can use canoes and a rowing boat on the lake, while the well-stocked pantry makes it a comfortable base for exploring the Austheiene mountains. Overnight stays can be booked online, although a number of drop-in beds are kept available for hikers arriving without a reservation. Yes, we also visited this waterfall on May 28, 2024. Unfortunately, it started to rain halfway through, but that didn't stop us from doing the hike. There was plenty of water! It's a very beautiful hike and I highly recommend it!

Beautiful hiking trail with a great waterfall and a fantastic plateau! Start and parking is possible at the end of the valley at the parking lot, from here you have to cross the pasture to the bridge, from here the trail is marked with blue markings on the rocks and trees.
