A wonderfully vibrant place for a hike, Fisktjønna Naturreservat provides access to the Marmoslottet – the Marble Castle. The scultpting power of glaciers and rushing water have created beautiful rock formations out of the limestone here.

This well-defined path through the forest leads to Tjuvtrappa for glorious views across Mo i Rana and Ranfjorden. It's more than suitable for families but bear in mind that when you arrive at the viewpoint there's quite a steep slope.

After leaving Selfors on the hike to Tjuvtrappa, you enter a lovely woodland. Here, many streams tumble down from Risfjellet above. It's a wonderfully tranquil place for a stroll.

Tjuvtrappa (Thief Stairs) is named after a woman who stole a cow from the nearby Loftfjellgården. It's said that she carried the cow over the hills into Selfors. The hike to Tjuvtrappa is lovely, with excellent views of Mo i Rana and Ranfjorden.

For the last meter to the Marmorslottet/glacial river you have to crawl through a hole under the rock. Please only walk on the marble barefoot!

Path taken mid-August 2024 on a sunny day. Very muddy, impossible to run. But the landscapes are very beautiful, and it allows access to the glacier without paying for the boat. Possibility of buying a return ticket only if necessary
