This is the Baroque so-called Rega Wing, dating from 1723, of the University Hall. Until 1914 (and its subsequent destruction), the university library was also located here. Anyone who wants to enter the University Hall itself will likely know that the entrance to this former cloth hall is on the other side (Naamsestraat). Since you're here, you might want to take a closer look at this Rega Wing—and note the list of names of "victims of the old market" on the 1924 memorial on the facade. Where parties and drinking have been going on for decades, in 1914 it was nothing but destruction and devastation. Cheers!

The Stella Artois brewery is located in the heart of Leuven. In the city registers of Leuven, we find a record of excise duties for the Den Hoorn brewery as early as 1366. It was at this brewery that Sébastien Artois became master brewer on June 13, 1708. His name thus became inextricably linked to the brewery and the city of Leuven. In 1926, the Artois brewery launched a Christmas beer, following the tradition of the time. It was called "Stella," the Latin word for "star." The beer was such a success that the brewer decided to market it permanently. Our Stella Artois still exists today. The horn and the year 1366 are still mentioned in the logo, references to the beer's origins. Click on the map at https://ab-inbev.be/ with the breweries, select the one for Leuven, and you will find this text with a photo and directions to the brewery.

This monumental pulpit was made for the abbey church (Norbertines) of Ninove and consists of a rock and two palm trees. At the bottom, the conversion of Norbert is depicted, and Peter in a cave. In 1807, it was transferred to St. Peter's Basilica in Leuven. Source and more: https://ornamentsnijder.blogspot.com/2024/05/preekstoel-in-de-collegiale-sint.html

Explanations from the initiators can be found in a video at https://www.robtv.be/nieuws/nog-een-muurschildering-in-leuven-erbij-we-willen-mensen-doen-nadenken-over-het-klimaat-137708 Bisser's works are located in various places in Leuven; he was born there, although he has also been embraced in Ghent, where he studied graphic design. In the meantime, he lives in the Leuven region again, and his work can be found far beyond the country's borders.

A devotional chapel belonging to the St. Michael parish, built between 1641 and 1705 on the current corner of Frederik Lintsstraat, on the site of two older chapels. In 1798, the French sold it publicly to chapel master J. Van Hamme and, from 1814 onward, it served as a parish church. When the Friars Minor purchased the church in 1865, they had a walled monastery built adjacent to it, with a spacious garden on the eastern side featuring vegetable plots, dwarf fruit trees, and greenhouses. The chapel was first restored in 1878 under the direction of architect P.P. Stoop, when the stained-glass windows, designed by P. Vander Auderaa and crafted in the workshop of Stalins and Janssens, were also installed. In 1889, the church was given a new choir. During a second restoration in 1907, the facade was stripped of plaster. In 1986, the Catholic University of Leuven purchased the church and the former monastery, which, after renovations, were repurposed as the Catholic Documentation and Research Centre.
