The Motte is a stream and tributary of the Demer. The stream originates at two locations: in the Walenbos near Houwaart and at the Ossenbergstraat in Tielt. The streams here are named after the sub-municipalities they flow through: the Tieltse Motte and the Houwaartse Motte. The streams merge at the level of the Tielt-Winge water treatment plant on the Rillaarseweg, where the stream continues as the large Motte. It then runs past Rillaar, where it regularly causes problems during heavy rainfall. Once past Rillaar, the stream flows into the Demer in Aarschot near the (eastern) bridge of the R25 over the Demer. (Wikipedia)

A surprising sight. Whether this will attract many birds? In any case, it is a call to protect nature better.
