Makegemse Bossen – a magical forest mosaic Fancy an escape from the daily grind? Then head into the Makegemse Bossen, an impressive nature reserve of about 200 hectares south of Ghent. Here, you won't be walking through a monotonous production forest, but through a varied landscape of ancient oaks and beeches, babbling brooks, mysterious pools, and open meadows. Each season brings a different atmosphere. In spring, thousands of wood anemones and bluebells colour the forest floor white and purple, while in autumn the forest transforms into a golden world of rustling leaves. An absolute must-see is the Marcel Van Miegroet Boardwalk. This wooden path winds through the wetter parts of the forest, introducing you to the unique nature in an adventurous way. Along the way, you can also discover some beautiful wooden animal sculptures. Please note that the unpaved paths can be quite boggy after rain. Sturdy hiking boots are therefore not an unnecessary luxury! A wonderful piece of nature where you discover something new every season.

Munte to Botelare, a stop at 't Ketske, and back. It's the first time I'm sharing, but it's definitely worth it. I just had a wonderful afternoon.
