The bridgehead of the Ronde van Vlaanderenbrug on the Trakelweg side is popular as a sports location. Almost daily, people exercising - with or without a personal coach - can be found here. Edward Houpline, sports coach and owner of EDE Sport and Movement, a frequent user of the location himself, submitted a proposal to give the bridgehead some color, using the urban project subsidy 'Paint your city'. For this, he collaborated with street artists LA.KUS (Koksijde) and KIEWIE.9000 (Gent). The artworks - realized in the spring of 2023 - are a nod to the Leie river and sporting activities.
