Beautiful, large village square with a pond and playground. There's a parking lot and a train station nearby.

The Bud is still a great place to rest, great service, the option to charge your e-bike and really reasonable prices. Delicious homemade cakes that are sometimes sold out in the afternoon, but that shouldn't be surprising given the prices.

GRUMBACH Former residence of the Wildgrafen and Rheingrafen From here you have a wonderful view of Grumbach, a small town in the North Palatinate mountains with its great and traditional history. Contrary to its location and buildings, Grumbach owes its name to the green stream in the valley, in the original "zu deregrounen bach". First mentioned in 1242, Grumbach offers over 750 years of history, interesting and unique features. Grumbach had town rights (since 1330), the right to mint coins and in 1575 became an independent residence through a branch of the Wildgraves and Rhinegraves, who lived in the local castle. This family of counts from the Nahegau shaped the image of the rulership and the community of Grumbach for centuries. Up to 70 towns were part of their sphere of influence. Properties in Lorraine, in Rheinhessen, on the Nahe and in the Hunsrück belonged to the House of Grumbach. In the Napoleonic era, the feudal features including the count's family and the castle had disappeared. Source: information board at the site
