The unusual construction, which consists of four huge wooden poles on which a grass-covered roof rests, is modeled on a former harvest storage facility. This construction was called "Four Rod Mountains". The roof was movable in the original. The natural boundaries of this parish are the rivers Eider, Treene and Sorge. They flow around the landscape like blue ribbons, villages, meadows and pastures. The Marien-Magdalenen church shows a simple Romanesque style, the walls mostly consist of partly very large boulders and are up to one meter thick.
