The Collegiate Church – A Splendor of Faith Since around 1740, the Collegiate Church has presented itself as a light-filled and colorful sacred space in the style of the South German Late Baroque. The ceiling frescoes by Matthäus Günther from Augsburg depict St. Augustine and the church's patron saint, Mary. The stucco work, including the countless pink cherubs, is by Anton Gigl from Wessobrunn. The building itself, however, dates back to the Middle Ages. The imposing Romanesque bell tower and the three-aisled nave were built around 1200. The high Late Gothic chancel was added around 1470/80. https://www.kloster-neustift.it/de/

For more than 800 years, the two-story circular chapel has guarded the entrance to the abbey. It is considered one of the most important Romanesque buildings in Tyrol and owes its name to its similarity to its – albeit much larger – counterpart in Rome. The chapel was built around 1200 as a loose replica of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. In the second half of the 15th century, it was provided with battlements and loopholes for fear of an Ottoman invasion. A Baroque sculpture of the chapel's patron saint, Archangel Michael with the scales of souls, oversees the entrance. https://www.kloster-neustift.it/de/museum/dauerausstellung/raumkunstwerke/

One of the oldest wine-growing regions in South Tyrol. The northernmost wine-growing region south of the Alps. In the monastery cellar you can taste the wines by the glass and also have a small snack.
