The Luca Reboulaz Bivouac, overlooking the tranquil waters of Lake Luseney at over 2,500 meters, is a simple yet atmospheric refuge. Built in memory of a young mountaineer from the Aosta Valley, it offers shelter and silence in the heart of the mountains, at the foot of the majestic Becca di Luseney. Here, time slows down and the mountain reveals itself in its most essential form: naked, true, profound. A place that lingers, especially at dawn, when the first light caresses the surrounding peaks.

While you wait for a clear night sky in Saint-Barthélemy (we can't forget that this is the location of the Regional Astronomical Observatory), don't miss the chance for a ski "trial lesson" on the surrounding slopes. Sunscreen and sunglasses should not be forgotten, because the 30 km long resort has no less than 250 days of sunshine per year. The cross-country trails cross the snow-covered meadows of Lignan, reaching an altitude of 1,700 meters at their highest point and the village of Champcombre, where the tracks begin at 1800 meters. There is a huge panorama to see: the Val Clavalité, the great valley of Saint Marcel and Mont Emilius in the south; the gorge of the Saint Barthélemy valley in the north. The slope at Lignan, starting from the town square, directly above the church, extends over a circuit of 3.5 km and in two circuits of 2 km, with easy to medium difficulty. The slopes of Champcombre start in the small hamlet of Porliod and extend to the upper valley of Saint Barthélemy, following the extensive semicircular morphology, until Ollière, at an altitude of 2000 meters. The slopes in Champcombre follow a linear route, on the sides of which there are three circuits: each of the routes can still be followed, from one to the other via dedicated transfer tracks. The direct route is of easy to medium difficulty and is located far from roads and inhabited centers, in a beautiful natural environment. Magià is a mountain refuge in the Valle d'Aosta. It is located in the Saint-Barthélemy Valley, at 2007 meters above sea level, in the La Servaz area of the municipality of Nus (AO). The wild charm of the high mountain forests and prairies. The primitive beauty of the ridges and peaks. The magic of a clear starry sky that takes your breath away. Traveling through the Saint-Barthélemy Valley means immersing yourself in one of the most authentic and unspoiled natural environments, not only in the Valle d'Aosta, but in the entire Alpine region. From the mountain hut you can take numerous easy and moderate walks. You can choose the excursion that suits you: several circuits are within everyone's reach! Other, slightly more challenging trails will take you to some of the peaks that surround us, from where you can admire unforgettable views. Reaching Rifugio Magià is also very pleasant by bike (to try with rental e-bikes), the farm road is largely flat in spring and summer and easily accessible for adults and children! The Magià refuge is located at an altitude of 2,007 metres. Here you eat well and the prices are excellent. The name of the shelter is a simple expression of family use. It means 'yes', 'of course', 'just like that'. It is called this way to honor a person esteemed by the founders, who used the expression a lot. The surrounding trails are all technically easy and flat.
