Port Closure The port's approach buoy was removed by the authorities without replacement, permanently ending sea access. The decision to close came as a surprise to many, especially since the port had previously been classified as an emergency port and the state of Schleswig-Holstein had covered the costs of the necessary dredging. There are currently no plans to reopen or renovate the port. The owner has not yet commented on future uses of the site. For water sports enthusiasts who have previously used the Lippe harbor, the Wendtorf Marina offers an alternative location.

Wide as a highway. Very easy to drive. In summer, there's a lot of bicycle and pedestrian traffic.

The port of Lippe in Hohwacht Bay will be closed for the 2025 season. Massive damage caused by shipworm infestation requires significant investments, which the operator is no longer willing to make.
