The amphitheater, built outside the city walls on the Salaria Gallica in 81 AD, is one of the best-preserved in the Marche. Commissioned by Lucius Flavius Silva Nonius Bassus, it still serves as a stage for theatrical performances today. The elliptical structure could accommodate about 5,000 spectators. It measures 93.5 meters along its major axis and 71.5 meters along its minor axis, covering an area of around 5,000 square meters. The surrounding wall is decorated with semi-circular niches where statues were placed. Tunnels run beneath the arena, which served as a passage for gladiators and animals.
