September 28, 2026, Colle della Bassa Water Fountain

Instead of stopping to eat at Sapei, a panoramic but windswept and waterless summit, it is definitely better to stop at the pass for a break: you find water, the place is sheltered and spacious and very evocative. From here to Sapei the sign indicates "20 minutes", personally I think we need at least ten minutes more, because the path is quite rough due to the protruding rocks. When descending towards Fevella, be careful not to take a track (red dots on trees) that starts near the fountain, because it leads you astray (Bertassi hamlet). The correct track starts further to the right (looking towards the descent) and is marked with white-red. At the Colle della Bassa it is also worth a short stop at the monument to the fallen of all wars, it serves to make you reflect, especially in these times!

Accessible from Almese on a dirt road or by climbing from Rubiana towards Col del Lys at the crossroads shortly after Mompellato. You can also climb from Val della Torre via a hiking trail.
