In 2025, there was already snow here at the beginning of October. Areas without stone ledges became a slippery affair. Luckily, we were climbing up here. Crampons would have been overkill, but poles can be useful.

From the Kreuzwiesenalm you have a wonderful view of the Peitlerkofel... Very nice mountain hut, which even has a sauna. The food is very tasty, and it's not for nothing that it's recommended by Gault-Millau. The camp offers a rustic place to stay overnight.
