Fiorenzuola di Focara is a medieval village located 180 meters above sea level, overlooking the sea. The place is known for Dante's quote in the XXVIII canto of the Inferno, linked to the strong winds that hit these cliffs. Through the alleys, you reach panoramic points with views of the Adriatic Sea and the Romagna coast. A distinctive feature is the steep path that descends directly to the wild beach below. The village preserves the remains of ancient walls and represents a fundamental stop on the route between Pesaro and Cattolica. There are also restaurants and souvenir shops.

Canyon formed by the Conca River. A species of bird (bee-eaters?) nests on the vertical walls, digging holes to use as nesting boxes.

In 1912 the road once called Via Viola that connects Riccione to the sea was finally named after the American benefactor Maria Boorman Wheeler, wife of the doctor Giovanni Ceccarini who died in 1903; from a narrow and dusty avenue of the late 19th century with the urban expansion of Riccione, villas, shops and hotels were built and from then on the avenue became the city's best living room and from the 50s the center of the Dolce Vita and the street of fashion

On Largo Boscovich, the port square, the white eighteenth-century lighthouse dominates, watching over the canal port, once the mouth of the Marecchia river, diverted further north in 1972. Symbol of the Navy, it is over 27 meters high and has a light range of 15 nautical miles. The lighthouse has a rotating optic; activated in 1862, it consists of a white quadrangular tower on a truncated pyramid base, with a terrace. The Lighthouse and Maritime Signaling Service is entrusted to the Venice Lighthouse Zone Command. The lighthouse is generally opened to the public only on special occasions such as the Sea Day, April 11 or for special guided tours (info: 0541.53399 Rimini tourist information). The "palata" of the port is the favorite destination for the people of Rimini for a walk and it is precisely here that Fellini imagined the nocturnal appearance of the transatlantic liner Rex. taken from: riminiturismo.it
