The "Große Kapellenrunde" hiking trail, which is very well marked with yellow and white arrows, naturally leads past the Hubertus Chapel. This circular hike is highly recommended! It begins at the basilica in Altenstadt and takes us up the Schellberg. There is a display board in front of the Hubertus chapel that explains the mountain panorama. If the visibility is good, you have a clear view of the spectacular panorama of the Alps from here. There are also several places to sit and have a snack.

From the Hubertus Chapel, which is located on a hill and built in 2000, you have a wonderful view of the entire Alpine chain. A display board illustrates the peaks of the Ostallgäu, the Ammergebirge and the Garmisch Mountains that rise up in the south, right up to the very clearly recognizable Zugspitze.
