At the top of the dam there is a gravel path with a view of the river (officially for pedestrians only). Access from the asphalt bike path is only easy here or directly at the power station - in between there are only adventurous footpaths leading up/down.

The water tower is a historical building in Wels that was built in the 16th century. It was used to supply the city with water from the Mühlbach. It has a beautiful Renaissance facade with coats of arms depicting the Habsburg possessions. The water tower was renovated in 2018 and now shines in new splendor. It is a real eye-catcher in the city center and a popular photo opportunity. You can visit him at the Zwinger and explore the city museum inside.

Wels Castle is a castle-like castle in the southeast of the city center of Wels, Upper Austria. It was built of stone in the 12th or 13th century and was a residence of the Habsburgs. Emperor Maximilian I died here in 1519. Today the castle houses an exciting city museum with various collections.

The water tower was built on behalf of the city chamber office in 1577 by the master mason Wolfgang Khranlachner. Inside the tower there was a lifting mechanism and a water tank, from which the water drawn from the mill stream was led through pipes to individual town houses and the two town fountains on the town square.
