The overpass of the B 6 near Hildesheim (specifically the large bridge over the Kennedydamm/B 494 and the railway tracks in the direction of Achtum/Itzum) is currently one of the largest and most lengthy infrastructure projects in the region. The bridge (building number BW 5403) had been dilapidated since 2017 and was only passable to a limited extent (one lane per direction). The main work for the replacement new construction has now begun.

The cycle path is of excellent quality, but it is only a short stretch here. If you drive into Broistedt, you have to change to the road at an inconvenient point. I know people who prefer to ride on the road (which is well used!).
