One of the few passages that from Latisana allow you to cross the Tagliamento

The Venice - Trieste line crosses the Tagliamento with a bridge between the municipalities of Latisana (UD) and San Michele al Tagliamento (VE); the nearest stations are those of Latisana and Portogruaro (VE). The current structure was put into operation in 1947, to replace the original, damaged by bombing during the Second World War. The bridge consists of two twin structures (one for each running track), each formed by three steel truss elements, resting on the abutments of the embankments and on a pair of pillars founded in the river bed; a classic design in post-war Italian railway engineering. An impressive civil engineering work on the Venice - Trieste line: this is what was carried out in Latisana from the month of June until the night of 14 October 2010, with the completion of the works for raising the railway bridge over the Tagliamento river . As well as the girders of the even track, already brought to the final level at the end of June, the sections of the odd track have also been relocated 110 cm higher than the original level.
