We are in the heart of the Great War's front line. The stage for the infamous 12 battles of the Isonzo. Thousands of Italian and Austro-Hungarian soldiers died here. Many testimonies of fortified lines are still in excellent condition. Places that should make us reflect.

At the historic site of the Dolina dei Bersaglieri, we are immediately catapulted back in time, having to cross and follow trenches that lead to the small basin of the famous First Aid Post of the Great War, now an open-air war museum. The route is very easy, on paved and dirt roads, with very little elevation gain and a high level of interest. It's a shame about the very tall grass...
