Right on the picturesque harbor promenade of Ribnitz-Damgarten stands an extraordinary work of art: "The Circus is Coming" – an impressive bronze sculpture by the renowned sculptor Jo Jastram. A gift to the city As a long-time patron of regional art, the Lions Club Ribnitz-Damgarten worked with great commitment to anchor this significant work in the city. Out of deep connection with the artist, the desire arose to create a large-scale sculpture that not only commemorates Jo Jastram's artistic work but also enriches the city's cultural landscape. A suitable location was quickly found: the sculpture group was given its permanent place in 2005. Beautiful view across the Saaler Bodden to Wustrow. Nearby is the old boundary stone in the reeds.

The Ribnitz Great Moor is a rain-fed bog, meaning it is fed solely by precipitation, which is "held" by the moss. The moss grows as a result, arches upwards, forms peat, and grows... if it is not drained. Here, too, peat was dug, and the bog was drained. Today, a worthwhile excursion trail leads through it, with information boards and benches.
