Saints Anne and Joachim are considered the parents of the Mother of God, whose birth this church celebrates. They are thus the grandparents of Jesus, but are not mentioned by name in the biblical writings of the New Testament. An exact date, in the historical or scientific sense, is not known for the various stages in the life of the Mother of God. However, the Feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God—one of Mary's numerous honorary titles—is celebrated on September 8th in many Christian denominations (Catholic, Anglican, Orthodox, and Armenian).

Bonaduz / Panaduz Station, RhB since 1903 1903 - Opening of the Reichenau – Ilanz Line In 1888, Graubünden railway pioneers realized their idea of a mountain railway. At the initiative of the Dutchman Willem-Jan Holsboer, they founded the Landquart-Davos narrow-gauge railway company. The groundbreaking ceremony took place that same year, and the Landquart – Klosters railway line opened in 1889. As early as 1890, the first steam trains ran from Landquart to Davos. Later, the lines to St. Moritz, Disentis, and Scuol-Tarasp were added. Thanks to the mergers with the Arosa and Bernina Railways, the route network expanded. Church of the Assumption of Mary, Bonaduz / Panaduz Construction history: First mentioned in 1445, but probably older 1494 New construction of a late Gothic hall church; the choir has survived to this day Circa 1630 Renovation and likely erection of the tower 1924–27 Fundamental reconstruction as a three-aisled basilica according to plans by the architects Sulser Brothers Chur The wall paintings in the nave of the parish church of the Assumption of Mary are designed in warm colors. The large-format depiction of the Stations of the Cross on the nave walls was executed by Arnold Nüscheler in 1927. The pointed arches leading to the choir, gallery, and side aisles are decorated with ornaments and graphic patterns, while the wall surfaces are filled with ashlar paintings. Of the old paintings, a small Epiphany painting (circa 1494) on the right wall of the antechamber and the paintings (circa 1623) in the star vault of the Gothic choir have been preserved. The tall and very slender spire (tower height to the top of the cross 51.17 m) is covered with wooden shingles. The four bells were cast in 1887 by the Gebrüder Theus foundry in Felsberg and are tuned to E-flat, G-flat, B-flat, and C-flat. Sogn Gieri Church (St. George), Rhäzüns The high plateau on which the two villages of Rhäzüns and Bonaduz are located drops steeply towards the southeast, facing the Hinterrhein. Several hills rise above this precipice. One of them is occupied by the Sogn Gieri Church. The church is constructed of roughly plastered quarry stone masonry, reinforced by tuff corner joints. The nave and chancel are combined under a single gable roof. The gable façade to the west features a covered, double-flight staircase leading to the entrance portal. All churches are open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Automatic door closing) Text / Source: Catholic Parish of 7403 Rhäzüns https://www.kirchgemeinde-rhaezuens.ch/kirchen/

Parish Church of the Nativity of Mary, Rhäzüns The present-day landscape of Rhäzüns is largely shaped by the Catholic parish church of Nossadunna, located in the center of the village. The church tower rises high above the rooftops and is a landmark visible from afar. Although consecrated in 1701, the Baroque sacred building did not become a parish church until 1777. The floor plan shows an octagonal central structure with two side niches and a polygonal choir loft extended to the north. The tower is inserted into the eastern choir shoulder, and the sacristy is located in the western one. The parish of Rhäzüns always celebrates the patronal feast of the parish church of the Nativity of Mary on the first Sunday in September. However, if September 8th falls on a Sunday, the Solemnity is celebrated on September 8th. Mass begins at 10:00 a.m. All churches are open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Automatic door closing) Text / Source: Catholic Parish of 7403 Rhäzüns https://www.kirchgemeinde-rhaezuens.ch/kirchen/
