Buch Reservoir: The Buch Reservoir is located near the village of Buch, part of the municipality of Rainau. The 27-hectare lake can be circumnavigated on a completely flat, barrier-free 4.3-kilometer hiking trail. The bathing and recreation area features a 150-meter-long sandy beach, extensive sunbathing lawns, barbecue areas, showers, changing rooms, restrooms, and exercise and fitness facilities. The boating area offers a slipway and rentals of rowing and pedal boats. Sailing, surfing, inline skating, and fishing are among the other recreational activities available. Nature and bird lovers will find something to enjoy year-round at the "Buch Forebay" bird sanctuary. Numerous rare bird species have already settled in the approximately 5-hectare forebay. An information platform provides details about these rare bird species. The Limes Park Rainau, with its Roman-era excavations, is located directly on the lake and is accessible via a circular hiking trail. The large lake festival takes place every year on the second weekend of August, and in mid-August, an open-air cinema shows a different film every day for a week. Dogs are not allowed on the beaches and sunbathing lawns at the lakes.
