«The name, according to tradition, seems to derive from the Latin minor which means to threaten due to its austere appearance, or from a sculpture by Mino da Fiesole (1431-1484) that was once there. It is among the most important in the area in terms of size and location. In fact, it is located in the S. Leonardo district near the Molfetta-Terlizzi provincial road at about 150 m. above sea level. Torre Mino, built in the 11th century and certainly the most important in the area that extends towards Bitonto. 25 meters high and made up of 4 floors, it stands out over the others and is the highest in the countryside. Located 150 meters above sea level, it offers a vast panorama that reaches as far as the Adriatic, which is why it is thought that it could also control the coastal defense system. Fortified more and more, it is thought that in the past it assumed the functions of a farmhouse, while its name seems to derive from "minor", or to threaten given the size that makes it look like a small castle. It offers defense systems such as an arrow, two sentry boxes with loopholes, but also typical elements of a farm complex such as wells, chapels, other rooms, probably for the workers, and a stable.
