The old water mill was already mentioned in 1320. The current buildings of the water mill were erected in 1866. In 1908, the Hagen estate obtained the right to dam the water on the Hagener Au, so that from 1911 an electricity works could be operated in the adjacent mill building. It supplied the Hagen and Dobersdorf estates with electricity. After the Probstei was electrified by Schleswag in 1922, the closure took place in 1930 and the subsequent demolition. After profitability was no longer given, the mill operation was discontinued in 1966. In 1982, the mill building was converted into a residential house.

The former Plagmann Inn is a designated historical landmark in Probsteierhagen. A pastor's widow's house stood on the site in 1626; in 1732, it was significantly altered by the innkeeper Marcus Bredenbeck. Hinrich Plagmann took over the inn in 1817 and also operated a bowling alley there, the oldest in the Probstei region (1841). It remained an inn until 1969, then a grocery store until 1975, and is now a private residence owned by the H. family. The plaque tells the building's story and makes it a tangible piece of local history.

The gatehouse was the main entrance to Hagen Manor. It was rebuilt in 1859 due to its dilapidated condition, and in 1921 the tower burned down after being struck by lightning.
