Marienburg Castle was built from 1858 for Queen Marie of Hanover and is one of the most impressive structures in the region. Until 2020, it was privately owned, then a transition to the current Marienburg Castle Foundation was pushed forward. Coupled with this was the urgently needed renovation of the castle after 160 years. The castle is being extensively renovated for 27 million euros, which is why it is currently not accessible to the public. If the construction work allows, individual parts will be opened. The renovation measures are expected to last until 2031. Impressions of the castle and news can be found here: https://www.stiftung-schloss-marienburg.de/

The shore is lined with trees, sculptures, and cafés that invite you to linger. The view over the lake is particularly impressive, with the waters reflecting picturesquely in the Maschteich pond when the water is calm ✨.

The road surface is very good, but the adjacent bike path isn't particularly suitable for road bikes. It's moderately busy. Occasionally, you'll find motorcycles that forget how the road traffic regulations work.

The Wülfel Manor is located in the south of Hanover and is considered a significant cultural monument. The estate's origins date back to the 17th century, when Duke Johann Friedrich transformed a farm into a noble estate. The current manor house was built around 1733 and remodeled in the mid-19th century. It is a two-story, neoclassical building with a hipped roof and risalit-like extensions. Behind the house stretches an extensive landscaped park with mature trees, ponds, a former kitchen garden, and historical elements such as a boundary stone and the so-called "Kaiserstein," which commemorates a military maneuver. A tree in the park that is over 700 years old is particularly impressive. The entire estate is a listed building and is the last remaining manor of its kind in the city. It impressively conveys the history of rural aristocratic residences in the region. Guided tours of the house and park are occasionally offered and provide insights into the architecture, history, and natural beauty of the estate.
