The "Green Martyrdom" is a wooden memorial column with three panels at the top, protected by a tin roof. It features an old view of Dietramszell (before the fire of 1636) and an image of St. Hubertus, the patron saint of hunters. It is said that the column shimmered greenishly, hence its name. The wayside shrine was renovated in 1950.

Unfortunately, Gipfelglück is right. It's closed for the entire year of 2025 for dubious reasons. Too bad for the Sauerlach market square; it's been pretty much dead since then. The sign on the window, however, predicts a reopening in 2026.

Unfortunately, it's closed now, but luckily the Ratschiller next door also serves ice cream. They make it themselves, and it tasted really good.

At Gasthof Maxlmühle, hot meals are served until 2:00 PM or from 6:00 PM, and coffee and cake are available from 2:00 PM. The blueberry cheesecake is highly recommended.
