The historic houseboat at the mouth of the Nidda in Frankfurt-Höchst is now known as the hotel ship and restaurant „Mainod“. It was built in 1958 by the Schlott family, christened „Peter Schlott“ on April 21, 1959, and came to Höchst in April 1959, where it has been permanently anchored ever since. This houseboat, technically completed in 1966, offers around 70 square meters of living space, is fully connected and gained additional notoriety in the region a few years ago when it made headlines in Frankfurt's real estate media because it was offered for private sale. Together with the second, larger neighboring boat, they form a photogenic, wildly romantic ensemble that is considered a popular postcard motif and a striking eye-catcher for walkers and cyclists on the Nidda cycle path.
