Lambert van de Lücht: A 70 square meter houseboat built in 1966. It was for sale in 2018 and was later moved to a harbor on the Rhine, as an on-site renovation was not approved. Houseboat „Venus“: Was the last remaining houseboat directly at the mouth of the Nidda. Reports of police searches recently dominated the news surrounding the boat (as documented in the FNP).

At the scenically attractive mouth of the Nidda in the area of the Frankfurter Wörthspitze, precisely on the border between the districts of Höchst and Nied, two privately used houseboats are traditionally moored fast. So your assumption is almost correct: there are indeed only two of these striking floating residential units that have shaped the image of the riverbank there for many decades. The better-known and slightly smaller of the two boats bears the charming name „Lambert van de Lücht“. This houseboat, technically completed in 1966, offers around 70 square meters of living space, is fully connected and gained additional notoriety in the region a few years ago when it made headlines in Frankfurt's real estate media because it was offered for private sale. Together with the second, larger neighboring boat, they form a photogenic, wildly romantic ensemble that is considered a popular postcard motif and a striking eye-catcher for walkers and cyclists on the Nidda cycle path.

A bit strenuous to cycle up through the vineyards, but once at the top, the view simply makes up for everything. With clear visibility, the Taunus, Odenwald, and in some places even the Frankfurt skyline can be seen.
