Beautiful hiking trail to the Thingplatz. The last time we were there, it wasn't there!

In 1904, the Kappeln - Süderbrarup railway line was opened. The town of Scheggerott experienced an economic boom thanks to the rail connection, as the Scheggerott train station developed into a regionally important transshipment point for agricultural products. Passenger traffic was discontinued in 1972, followed by freight traffic in 2003. Since then, only the museum trains of the Angeln steam railway have stopped in Scheggerott when required.

"Clearing of the bearded man" is how the place name Scheggerott can be translated from Danish. The Angeln region used to belong to Denmark, but it is not known when exactly the village was founded. Some burial mounds in the north of the municipality date from the Neolithic or early Bronze Age and are evidence of early settlement in this area. Isolated farms and single-family homes characterize the image of the municipality.

Thing place called Guly-Thing. It was reconstructed by the Stoltebüll municipality in 2003 a little off the historic site. It is a stone circle made of boulders. The village thing regulated the jurisdiction and all disputes in the place. This Dorfthing existed until the 19th century. Source Wikipedia

Very small shop where you can get everyday things. In summer you can also get coffee and cake in the restaurant.
