Small natural spring in the Niesteauen and one of the sights of Niestetal. The Wichtelbrunnen is located directly in the green near the renatured Nieste and also gave the nearby Wichtelbrunnenbad its name

Here the Nieste can flow more naturally again: in 2023, the previously straightened stream was relocated over around 250 meters into a new, winding bed with meanders, small islands, and floodplains. The new floodplain landscape creates habitat for animals and plants and also serves flood protection.

The Niestetal nature experience pool is a naturally designed outdoor pool with a sandy beach, water cascades, a diving rock, and spacious sunbathing lawns. The pool water is naturally purified via a planted regeneration area, thus offering more of a lake swimming experience than a classic outdoor pool.

The Heiligenrode Park in Niestetal is a small, well-kept green space with old trees, walking paths, and a few ponds. It is wonderful for a short break and forms a beautiful green contrast to the open fields around Heiligenrode.
