August 10, 2026, Furber Steps

Furber Steps drops steeply down the escarpment towards the Jamison Valley, with sections of stone steps, metal stairs and track cut close against the sandstone cliffs. You’ll pass beneath large overhangs and get changing views across to Katoomba Falls as you descend. The way down is straightforward enough, but remember you’ll need to regain all that height if you’re returning the same way.

Already VERY crowded on the weekend😉 But always a very beautiful hike with impressive views. And in the end, Bondi Beach is always worth a hike anyway 😎

I walked from Spit Bridge to Manly. Beautiful. But then added the North Head Circuit via Blue Fish Track. Sensational views. And then took the ferry from Manly back to Circular Quay. Can be done as a beautiful and varied day trip. Going back to Downtown by ferry at dusk is awesome.
