The old mill in Burbach's Lippe district, located on the Buchheller, originally dates back to the 15th century and was probably the first house in the village. After a varied history as a guesthouse, restaurant, and residential building, the municipality of Burbach acquired the dilapidated building in 2013. With the support of Outdooractive and through the tireless efforts of the local heritage association Heimatverein Lippe e.V., the building was largely demolished and rebuilt by autumn 2023 as a modern meeting center and excursion destination.

The Peterszeche in the Buchhellertal near Burbach was the largest and most important lead, zinc, and iron ore mine in a historically densely utilized mining area of the southern Siegerland. History and Mining + Establishment: A mining association was founded in 1850 specifically for the orderly extraction of lead ores. + Expansion: Workers laid out the "Oberer Stollen" (Upper Adit) and the over 312-meter-long "Tiefer Stollen" (Deep Adit). The later main shaft (Shaft Leo) reached a depth of 440 meters. + Consolidation: In 1865, the mine consolidated with surrounding smaller mines such as Hoffnungsstern, Viktorsfeld, and Kupferkaute. + Golden Age: At its peak, the mine employed around 300 employees. + Closure: Regular ore production was discontinued around 1906.
