The birthplace of Friedrich Schiller in Marbach am Neckar has a multifaceted history, closely linked to the economic hardship of his family and the later emergence of the German poets' cult. The building at Niklastorstraße 31 is a typical craftsman's house from the 1690s. After the old town of Marbach was almost completely destroyed by the devastating town fire of 1693, the house was rebuilt on the salvaged cellar remains of the previous structure. Characteristic of the reconstruction phase of that time is the striking, trapezoidal floor plan of the house.

The Floßhaussteg is a covered wooden bridge for pedestrians and cyclists that spans the river Murr on the southern edge of the municipality of Murr. The name derives from historical log driving. Between 1517 and 1871, firewood was transported on the Murr. The former storage site for the firewood was located exactly at the current site of the bridge.

The old railway bridge over the Murr is the largest bridge structure of the historic Bottwartalbahn railway (official structure number 3023). It is located between Marbach am Neckar and Murr. The bridge was commissioned in 1894 with the opening of the section. Regular train traffic on this section ended in 1968. The structure is today a disused, rusty steel truss bridge, which is no longer accessible and is increasingly decaying. Large parts of the rails or metal elements have been removed over the years.
