Since 1959, the "Bambi" has been cast here in Süßen. The foundry was founded in 1919 by Ernst Strassacker, a trained chaser at WMF in Geislingen. After the First World War, he was unemployed and initially produced grave decorations and bronze letters. In the post-war period, the company kept afloat with cooking pots and Spätzle presses. Today, the family, in the fourth generation, casts artworks for the whole world, including Uwe Seeler's huge bronze foot at the Hamburg Volksparkstadion. A detour is worthwhile: in the sculpture park, covering over 8,000 m², bronze figures stand among water features.

A nice little, likeable-looking town with a historic center. However, one also sees some vacancies and a lack of future viability.

Great restaurant, especially the beer garden (Biergarten) is very large and beautifully landscaped. The sausage salad (Wurstsalat) and the schnitzel (Schnitzel) with potato salad are delicious!
