Unfortunately, the local history is only briefly presented here. From or to Wilhams, there's the shady and hilly Hirnbeinweg (Cerebral Bone Trail), with a parking lot in between. I cycled this trail once without checking out the stations. The trail is 7 km long and takes about 2.5 hours. If you park in Weitnau and want to return, it could be quite long depending on the age of your children. According to another Komoot user, you can take a regular bus to your car during the week.

I can't say anything about the food, but the beer garden is nice and shady in the summer.

As is typical in the Alps, the view can be uneven; the winter photos were better. I was expecting a larger alpine pasture, partly because of the museum. I have no idea how busy it will be on the weekend, although it might be quiet given the location for the Allgäu region. Even though it's a lot of elevation gain to get here, I'll be back.
