Having arrived here above the bridge that crosses part of the lake, we find ourselves in front of the Sibillini mountain chain.

Panoramic, one of the most beautiful roads in the region

It is one of the most panoramic points of the Sibillini, on the top of a vast plateau that preserves the most beautiful Renaissance sanctuary in the Region. Looking from the pass towards Macereto, the waters that flow to the right end up in the Adriatic, those to the left in the Nera and then in the Tiber and then in the distant Tyrrhenian Sea.

Highlights include views of imposing mountains like Monte Bove, and the wild beauty of the Nera River's source. You might also pass by the artificial Lake Fiastra, known for its splendid colors, or have distant views of the Infernaccio Gorge.
Given Ussita's position in an Apennine mountain pass, the best time for road cycling without traffic is typically from late spring through early autumn. During these months, the weather is generally more favorable, and the roads are clear of snow, offering optimal conditions for exploring the scenic routes.
