Asphalt in the middle of the forest would be nice, but it's not that good. The marked section (as of August '24) is a dirt road - good quality, if you insist you can even roll over 28mm, from 32-35mm it's easy.

I was there twice and both times the cathedral was open.

This church is a minor basilica whose patron saint is Catherine of Alexandria. Nothing remains of the first wooden church from the 12th century. The imposing building in front of you is neo-Gothic in style. One of the last reconstructions dates back to 1859. Towards the end of the Second World War this sacred place was destroyed again, then rebuilt in the early 1980s, to be consecrated in 1986.

THE HISTORY OF THE LIGHTHOUSE The waters of the Gdańsk Bay are separated from the Vistula Lagoon by a promontory with high dunes, mostly covered with coniferous forests. The average height of the spit is 20-25 m. One of the highest places on the spit (a dune about 29 meters high) was located about 500 m northeast of Kahlberg, today's Krynica Morska (until 1958 Łysica). This place was chosen as the location of the lighthouse, which would enable safer night navigation not only in the south-eastern part of the Gdańsk Bay, but also in the waters of the Vistula Lagoon. The Maritime Administration of the time, which supervised this basin in Neufahrwasser (now Gdańsk Nowy Port), commissioned Edward Stach, a contractor from Elbląg, to build the tower and the technical and social building. Work began in early June 1894.
