Of the various locations considered for the reuse of the bridge, the valley of the Lužnice near Stádlec was eventually chosen, at a place where a ferry had crossed the river for years. The width of the riverbed and the road here were comparable to those of the original location. According to the documentation, the original parts were reassembled, and on May 25, 1975, the bridge was reopened. The bridge, with a total length of 157 meters, is suspended from two double curved chains attached to the wooden deck by vertical rods. The chains pass through openings in two stone pylons that frame the bridge and are anchored in masonry blocks.

A unique technical monument, the last Empire-style bridge in the Czech Republic, moved from the Vltava to the Lužnice. The bridge originally spanned the Vltava near Podolsko, about 10 km east of Písek. It was built between 1847 and 1848 by the entrepreneur Vojtěch Lanna from České Budějovice, based on a design by Bedřich Schnirch, an architect who designed many similar bridges both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The bridge was in full operation for over 90 years. In 1942, road traffic was diverted to a new reinforced concrete bridge that spanned the entire Vltava valley. The suspension bridge remained in use for local traffic until 1960. Due to the completion of the Orlík Dam and the filling of the reservoir, which would have submerged the bridge, it was completely dismantled. Each part was marked and stored.

A mushroom in the tree. Since I recently found out on educational television that in the future we will be building houses out of mushrooms and that mushrooms will play an important role in medicine, I think that the mushroom heals the tree.
