A convenient bridge over the Schie Canal for walkers and cyclists. It provides a pleasant connection between Rotterdam West and Overschie without having to cross the busy Kleinpolderplein.

Next to the intersection of Harreweg and Veenweg (after 50 meters from Veenweg, Oostveenseweg follows) stands De Engelenhoek, the Verkade family's dairy farm. According to the farmer's wife, this Schiedam farm dates back to 1814 and has a rich history. Mrs. Verkade proudly explains that the farm is distinguished by its traditional colors: corn yellow and laurel green. That alone would be a reason for it to be a Komoot Highlight, but that's certainly not the only thing De Engelenhoek has to offer.

The Nieuwe Sluis connects the Schiedamse Schie with the Lange Haven at the Dam. The lock is clad in natural stone and still contains some of the original balustrade railings. The lock contains two natural stone inscription plates with the dates 1778 and 1779. It was constructed by the then city architect Rutger van Bol'es. Since 1969, the object has been registered as a national monument in the monument register.
