This path is not suitable for sporty cyclists. It says cycle path, but is actually also a footpath.

The Reformed Church in Hazerswoude-Dorp, usually called the Village Church, was built in the period 1646-1658. The church stands on the site of the medieval Roman Catholic St. Michael's Church, which probably came into the hands of the Protestants around 1575. They eventually demolished the former Michael's Church and in 1646 the current tower was built. In 1658 the new brick church building was ready... a single-nave church with a strikingly wide five-sided closed choir. The tower with three sections, with brick construction and openwork wooden lantern, on which a ball crowning, looks elegant. In the tower several 15th and 17th century bells. On the north side of the church a beautiful entrance in Louis XVI style, placed around 1800. Church with tower are attributed to the famous architect Pieter Post (1608-1669), also known as court architect of stadtholder Frederik Hendrik. Hazerswoude - village was built on heath. The area has been excavated and is therefore considerably lower than the village floor. Note that the front door of the church is almost 2 meters above the original ground level. A newly built ramp ensures that people with a pram or in a wheelchair have access to the church.
