Stopped for the first time, delicious apple pie and terrace with a beautiful view over the water and the bridge, of course.

The route near Monnickendam is currently blocked. Work is being done on both bicycle tunnels simultaneously. I've crossed the busy road by bike, but that's not recommended.

The church was bought in 1984 for conversion into shops and apartments. The building has 36 residential units, 18 of which are located between the wooden barrel vault and the roof, with the remaining apartments in the former rectory at the rear of the church. The tower is owned by the congregation. The Remembrance Day ceremony is held in the church every year. On January 4, 1945, five men were shot dead in front of the church. A memorial to them is attached to the facade to the right of the tower. This spot is also the end of the silent march that takes place every May 4 in memory of the men. A hotel and restaurant opened on the ship in 2022.

This is probably my favorite spot in the entire waterland. This bridge is really super beautiful and the whole road to or from Amsterdam is so wonderfully quiet. Note: It is narrow in some parts and there is always gravel on the road
