The Quinta da Regaleira palace was built at the beginning of the 20th century by the millionaire Antonio Augusto Carvalho Monteiro (1848-1920), who fulfilled his dream here with the help of the theater architect Luigi Manini (1848-1936). It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A fairytale 🏰. Beautiful here 🥰.

The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It comes from the eccentric millionaire António Augusto Carvalho Monteirohat. With the construction he fulfilled his personal dreams. The most famous sight within is the mystical spiral staircase from the chapel crypt down to the initiation fountain. From there a cave leads to a lake in the park. The stairs have appeared in many international films. The palace includes even more cave systems, labyrinth grottos, parks with artificial lakes, fountains, bridges and towers. Sintra is 45 minutes from Lisbon by train. A bus goes from Sintra train station to the palace. There are also guided tours to the Quinta da Regaleira in combination with the Pena Palace. https://www.konpasu.de/portugal/gehenswurdigkeiten/lissbon/
