The flat southern part of the Plateau de Valensole is the most important lavender growing area in Provence. It is bordered by the Durance, Verdon and Asse rivers. In June and July, the area between Puimoisson and St-Jurs is a sea of purple. Valensole, the center of the plateau, is famous for its lavender honey.

The Vieil Aiglun peaks at 770m and offers a great challenge to build muscle and especially hurt your legs. From Aiglun the climb is 3.6 km and the first 2.6 kilometers are done on the slopes of the Col du Trisson which is further north (around 4-5%). But at one point you will have to take a sharp turn to the left and have a good gear and above all very good legs because you will begin one of the hardest and longest kilometers of your life because the latter has an exacerbating average: 13 %!!! All distributed over multiple ULTRA tight laces

The Col du Trisson culminates at 691m. From Aiglun the pass is 3.4 km for 5% on average and has a regular climb except for the last 200 meters which are at 8% on average with passages of a few meters at 12%. On the other side from La Gibonne the climb is half as long, 1.7 km but is steeper with 6.5% average gradient including 500m which passes 8-9%
