Since 2022, their own beer under the name Entla's Bräu has been brewed directly in the mountain at the Entlas Keller in Erlangen. Although the historic cellar vault was already carved into the rock in 1686 by Heinrich Windisch as the first rock cellar of the Burgberg, the underground labyrinth served exclusively for the maturation and cool storage of beer for centuries. The cellar landlord Vincenz Schiller's own microbrewery, installed deep in the mountain, was a long-cherished project that was completed in the winter of 2021 after construction delays and has been supplying the taproom with its own beer since the 2022 season.

Outside of France, there is no Huguenot church still in use today that is older than the one in Erlangen. It was built between 1686 and 1693 as part of the Baroque design of the new town of Erlangen, based on plans by Johann Moritz Richter. The first French religious refugees came to Erlangen in 1686 at the invitation of Margrave Christian Ernst. The Calvinists called their church the French Reformed Church. In 1922, it merged with the German Reformed Church and is today the Evangelical Reformed Church. However, the name Huguenot Church has remained in common parlance.

Erlangen is a beautiful, cosmopolitan city shaped by the FAU university and Siemens. The Franconian Switzerland is just a stone's throw away from here. In the context of Siemens, the small village of Pretzfeld should be mentioned here. After WW2, Pretzfeld was internationally known for decades for semiconductor innovations in the field of power diodes and thyristors. The company Semikron in Nuremberg is a spin-off from this area. Electrical engineers will be familiar with the name Schottky, known for the Schottky diode that bears his name. He worked there and contributed significantly to the outstanding expertise. Scientists like Spenke, Dannhäuser, Benda etc. should also be mentioned in this context. The only or main competitor at the time was Westinghouse in the USA. Locals are trying to keep the memory of this time alive - for example, the diffusion furnaces for semiconductors were located in the stable of the castle, which still exists today.
