Beautiful church open most days (excluding Sunday) to pop in and take a look. The recent church dates back to 1494.

An old village that’s somehow not been swallowed up by London. St Mary the Virgin church dates back to 1494 (much rebuilt in that time) and there are several beautiful historic buildings around it.

@jake I think they've deliberately mis-spelt the strava segment name to be more polite!! :-) Top tip from Alex S and absolutely spot on! Also if you continue past the bridge without crossing it the road back up the hill is very poor with significant pot holes!

The Hertfordshire village of Newgate Street is wonderfully located for woodland walks. With Northaw Great Woods to the southwest and Broxbourne Woods to the northeast, there's plenty for you to get your hiking boots stuck into. The village is home to two pubs and a Mediterranean restaurant.

Green open and beautiful. Residents take care of the place. Nice little retreat from the city.
