Tips from the Community

March 30, 2026, Piazza di Mocchie

The square of Mocchie, enhanced by the evocative statue dedicated to the labors of the farming world and dominated by the beautiful baroque-style church, is the ideal starting point for numerous excursions, both towards the hamlets around Mocchie, and towards the Alotto, Frassiniere and Prarotto area, locations reachable by beautiful mule tracks also suitable for MTB. There is a small parking lot, a fountain, benches and, not too far away, a bar that becomes an excellent meeting point for after-hikes!

The climb towards Prato del Rio is challenging immediately after the last turn from the main road, steep slopes on the first bends, then a little easier to handle... with splendid views towards the Sacra di San Michele and the valley below 😉

In Frassiniere, in addition to the exceptional panorama, it is worth making a short stop to experience the welcoming bar, an ideal place for a quick snack and a beer. Furthermore, the area is a crossroads of beautiful routes ideal for MTB, as well as a spectacular balcony, not only on the lower valley, but also on the mountainous area behind, dominated by the grassy pyramid of Mount Sbaron (a beautiful winter itinerary... when there is snow!)
